The first week saw an all-female ensemble, including two sets of friends, a mother and daughter duo, and three intrepid solo travelers. Adding an international flair to the mix were Monika from Poland and Stephanie from Switzerland. In contrast, the second week welcomed a group of all Brits, united by a shared love for exploration.

From the rugged coastlines of Peameanach Beach and Village Ruins to the tranquil beauty of Coire Ardair in the Creag Meagaidh Nature Reserve, our trails beckoned adventurers seeking to immerse themselves in nature’s splendour.

Weathering the Elements

Despite mixed forecasts, our guides expertly navigated the ever-changing weather conditions, ensuring our groups remained dry for the majority of their excursions. Even as Storm Kathleen loomed on the horizon, our walking weeks remained unscathed, a testament to Distant Hills’ favoured status among the weather gods.

Our Spring Walking Holidays were not just about the walking; they were a celebration of shared experiences and culinary delights. From the first night’s meal lovingly prepared by Dani & Cam at Distant Hills to the delectable offerings served at The Old Station, our guests savored every moment of communal dining. Back at the guest house, tea and cake awaited, with homemade treats ranging from lemon drizzle to chocolate birthday cake, ensuring sweet memories were made with every bite.
