On Saturday 16th July we celebrated our 3rd anniversary of taking over Distant Hills Guest House, and what a ride it’s been! Always looking on the sunnier side of life, we’ll gloss over the ‘P’ word and focus on the positives.
Above all, we’d like to say a huge thank you to you for supporting us and helping us to make our dreams come true. We have thrown our hearts and souls into our wee business and nothing gives us more pleasure than sharing our home with fabulous people from all over the world and seeing them relax and enjoy the magic we have created at Distant Hills.
Check out these ‘Then and Now’ photos…

New for 2023 – Low-Level Walking Holidays
Our Distant Hills ‘moderate’ and ‘hard’ walking holiday packages have been a huge success so far. However, not everyone enjoys, or is able to walk up and down hills, so we are delighted to announce that we are introducing our first low-level walking itinerary 2-8 April 2023. The first place has been sold already, so only 9 places left! To find out more information and check out the new walks, click here.
We have one place left on our Moderate Walking Holiday 2-8 October 2022. Email us if you’re interested

Segway Adventures & Axe Throwing coming to Spean Bridge
We are super excited to tell you that you can now try off-road Segway right here in Spean Bridge! Not only that, you can also try your hand at a range of target sports including axe throwing, spear throwing and archery! The elevated position of Wild Highland Outdoor Activity Centre provides exceptional views of the Nevis and Grey Corries Mountain Ranges beyond. It’s worth visiting the centre for the views alone!
Stuart and Yvonne, who own and run the company are great fun and excellent, patient instructors who will ensure you have the very best of times. We gave it a go a few weeks ago and loved it! For more information visit Wild Highland here

Looking for Nessie
One of the biggest attractions to the West Highlands is Loch Ness and its mythical monster! Did you know that Loch Ness is the UK’s largest body of water, with more water than all the lakes in England and Wales put together!!!
Many of our guests like to make a day trip of driving the 80+ miles around Loch Ness. Read our latest blog article giving you our hints and tips on things to see and do on the journey making this a very memorable day out.

We still have some rooms available this summer and early autumn, so if you’re thinking about a ‘Highland fling’ and staying at Distant Hills put your dates into our availability checker below and get planning your next visit. We look forward to hearing from you!
