Im Urlaub zuhause 😀 - Dani und Cam sind super herzliche Gastgeber und gaben uns das Gefühl, zuhause zu sein. Tolles Frühstück, tolles Zimmer mit ganz Liebe zum Detail. Den Whirlpool haben wir an beiden Abenden genutzt, Bademäntel und Handtücher auf dem Zimmer. Dieses B&B lässt wirklich keine Wünsche offen, es ist an alles gedacht. Danke Dani&Cam für einen perfekten Aufenthalt! 😞 - Dass die Zeit viel zu schnell verging.

Dani and Cameron have a lovely home from home in their B&B and were great at picking us up as part of our Great Glen Walk from Gairlochy. We would highly recommend as a friendly place to stay with a lovely breakfast selection and guest facilities.

Beautiful Guest House in Spean Bridge Stayed here as part of our GGW hike. The Guest House is beautiful - the rooms are lovely, with a large and comfortable guest room for anyone staying to enjoy. We were lucky to arrive on a beautiful day, so could enjoy the lovely garden, and a welcome drink from their well-stocked guest bar. Dani and Cameron are brilliant hosts, making you feel welcome from the minute you arrive. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. Special thanks to Cameron who will drive you back to Gairlochy to re-start the GGW the next day. A definite find on our trip and we will return to explore and enjoy Spean Bridge again.

Dani and Cameron were super nice! They have a dry room for gear (which was so helpful!) and let us hose off and store our bikes. The hot tub was a delightful bonus! Rooms are great, hot showers, and delicious breakfast! Would highly recommend and hope to return someday!

Excellent accommodation ,with the Memorial round the corner,....well 1 mile! Well worth a visit! 😀 - The room and facilities were excellent. Cam prepared a wonderful breakfast, while Dani handled front-of-house. Both he and Dani graciously accommodated me outside the standard breakfast hours. Breakfast was excellent and prepared me for the day. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. I would recommend staying here. 😞 - My only minor complaint was the pillow—I prefer a softer one, but that's just my preference, since I usually bring my own. Sleep was briefly disturbed by someone snoring in room 5, but otherwise, the stay was peaceful. There were only a few midges, likely due to the rain. Evening dining options in the area are limited, but aside from these small inconveniences, everything else was excellent. Many thanks.

Eine richtig tolle Unterkunft mit sehr netten Gastgebern die gute Ideen für Ausflüge/ Wanderungen haben. Die Zimmer sind schön und sehr sauber. Das Frühstück ist lecker und liebevoll zubereitet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Hot Tub im Garten war nach der Wanderung auf den Ben Nevis ein Traum. Alles in allem eine super Wahl und wir werden wieder kommen. Vielen Dank!

Such a wonderful place to stay! Immaculately clean, lovely comfortable bed, quality bed linen, excellent tasty breakfast, very accommodating to dietary needs, beautiful restful garden and lounge/bar area.The best part are the hosts..you wont get a more friendly welcome anywhere.

This was a lovely stay! We stayed one night and it was one of the nicest stays of our trip!Some of the many pros:- easy to find and well sign posted with ample car park space- the self check in process was very easy- the room was spacious and very comfortable, with easy to understand instructions regarding wifi, extra pillows etc.- the bathroom had lots of bench space, plus there was a vanity space, which for a girly is very beneficialBut mainly, Dani and Cam were very lovely and the breakfast the next morning was probably the best one we had on our two week road trip around Scotland!Thank you both very much for a lovely stay!

My night was supper ! The place so clean, calm, beautiful area. It was really nice place to stay during our trip.What makes it more enjoyable are the hosts , they were supper friendly, they cook the breakfast them selves ! Delicious!Definitely recommend

Fantastic two night stay en route between Mull and Skye. The room was spotless and very comfortable and Danny and Cameron were so friendly and welcoming.Loved:Self check inPre-order b’fast menu- less waste, more taste!The honesty bar- which was well used as it was so close to the bedroom😂Would definitely recommend staying if passing through this area

Ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt bei Dany und Cameron.Beide sind sehr aufgeschlossene und warmherzige Gastgeber. Das Haus ist sehr komfortabel und gemütlich in ruhiger und doch zentraler Lage. In einem sehr gemütlichen Aufenthaltsraum stehen diverse alkoholische und nicht alkoholische Getränke zu zivilen Preisen zur Verfügung.Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet und super hergerichtet.Der Aufenthalt bei den beiden war ein Highlight unserer Schottland Reise.Herzlichen Dank, Eva und Wolfgang.

Wow, was ein tolles und einzigartiges Bed & Breakfast. Wir haben uns von der ersten Minute an sehr wohl gefühlt und haben die Zeit wirklich genossen. Geschmackvoll eingerichtete Zimmer, ein grandioses Frühstück und eine unfassbare Gastfreundschaft ist uns entgegengebracht worden. Durch die vor Ort angebotenen Biere, wird das tolle Erlebnis abgerundet.

Et fantastisk sted å bo! Stedet ligger stille og fredelig til, i et vakkert fjellandskap. Rommet hadde alt vi kunne ønske oss, og litt til. Men det som gjorde oppholdet mest spesielt var den varme velkomsten vi fikk av vertene. Her blir man virkelig tatt vare på! Frokosten var også et høydepunkt. Kommer gjerne tilbake ❤️

We had a wonderful night and a delightful breakfast when we stayed at distant hills. Our room was really comfortable, our hosts were lovely and after breakfast we even got a lift back to where we stopped on the Great Glen Way. I would highly recommend.

A very beautiful experience had at Distant Hills Guesthouse. Right away the welcome was amazing from the hosts that made us feel at home. The house itself is so nicely decorated and homey. The room was also very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was one of the best we ever had while traveling. You can see everything is done with love and care. I can't recommend this place enough. We will definitely visit again!

Amazing stay at a super clean and well managed property back in September 2025. Apparently Google Maps blocked my original review (I have no idea why so I am only now recreating it.). Super appreciative of the ride back to the start of day 2 on the Great Glen Way.

Das Guesthouse besticht durch gemütliche Zimmer, einem separatem Wohnraum und einem hübsch gestalteten Frühstücksraum. Abends kann man noch gemütlich im Wohnraum zusammensitzen und sich an der Bar Getränke und Snacks nehmen. Das Frühstück war top! Aber vor allem die Herzlichkeit von Dani und Cameron machen es zu einem Wohlfühlort.

Excellent all round 😀 - Everything fm the warm welcome to the fantastic breakfast. There was nothing negative about this stay, none whatsoever, and I would highly recommend this property to all, especially walkers. Great to stay somewhere where owners take great pride in the service they provide their guests… 😞 - Nothing!!!!

Friendly, welcoming hosts to a lovely home in a lovely part of Scotland. 😀 - Very warm welcome from the hosts. Great advice about places to eat nearby. A top tip to get to the car park early to see the "Harry Potter" train puffing over the viaduct nearby. Breakfast was excellent, our hosts were friendly as they topped up teas and coffees. A really beautiful house and garden, though it was too chilly for us to sit outside in the evening. Definitely a place to return to when in Scotland. 😞 - I could not fault anything.

Fantastische B&B met super hosts! 😀 - Het was de perfecte stop op de rondreis samen met mijn ouders. Rustig gelegen, zeer vriendelijke en gastvrije hosts, heerlijke bedden, goede douche. Mooie, grote tuin. En de "honesty bar" was erg goed uitgerust. Helaas maar 1 nacht verbleven bij Dani en Cameron, maar zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. 😞 - Ik kan echt niets bedenken.

Toll! Dani und Cameron sind super nett, Einchecken geht unkompliziert, die Zimmer sind sauber&gut und die Bar gut sortiert. Was will man mehr???Es gibt einen Pub im Ort, aber der scheint in der Hauptsaison am Limit. Kleiner Tipp: im Notfall ein paar Sandwiches einpacken! Wie Paddington. (Wir haben aber trotzdem was bekommen! Danke dafür, liebe Old Station.)Ansonsten würde ich hier auch ohne zu zögern mehrere Tage einchecken!!!

😀 - La Guest House è molto accogliente, gli spazi sono ben arredati e curati nei minimi particolari con stanze graziose e moderne, pulitissime e confortevoli. La guest house dispone di un bel giardino con prato e fiori bellissimi, dove è possibile rilassarsi a fine giornata accedendo alla vasca idromassaggio o fare un aperitivo al tramonto. I proprietari sono stati gentilissimi e accoglienti, super apprezzata la buonissima colazione preparata da loro, con scelta tra scottish breakfast e ottimi pancakes! 😞 - Niente

We had the best time! Dani and Cameron are the best hosts! really friendly and made us feel welcome from the first minute on. We got a very unexpected room upgrade to a large, quiet and very very clean room. :)! Breakfast was awesome.The backyard is a real gem for leisure, have a drink and even with a hot tub to use.We will def. come back for future stays! most recommendabe place to stay!

Probably my favorite hosts along the Great Glenn Way. Incredibly organized, accommodating, and warm.Can arrange transport to and fro the great Glenn way since technically Spean bridge is a diversion.We enjoyed our breakfast and the evening hot tub was a real bonus.Big spacious living room with a wet bar for communal use in the evening. Not every b&b offers this in highlands so it was always a bonus to have this.We would stay again and recommend to all.

Wonderful people, excellent location to see the Highlands 😀 - Dani and Cam were so attentive and welcoming it was like coming home to good friends. The breakfast was plentiful and really good quality. The spa was always hot and the beds really comfortable. Would go back again and wish we could have stayed longer.

Dani and Cam were exceptional hosts - they treated us like good friends and looked after their guests so well. Beautiful breakfast each morning with great quality food as well as any helpful tips on sights in the region. This is a great spot to explore the Highlands with a lot of key spots being within 30 minutes to an hour's drive away.

Everything about Distant Hills Guest House is stunning. A very modern, cosy, clean place to stay.Dani & Cameron were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble, they were there with their knowledge and for a general chit chat.The room was immaculate, with a view into the beautiful garden. Tea/coffee/Galaxy hot chocolate etc was replenished upon request.The guest lounge with tv & an 'honesty bar' was somewhere to relax & unwind at the end of a busy day out & about.Breakfast was amazing! From a selection of cereals to choose from, fruit salad, Greek yogurt, a cooked breakfast & toast. Oh let's definitely not forget about Cameron's absolutely amazing & yummy pancakes! Wow! Everything was simple and just as expected for a B&B. The hosts were great! 😀 - Distant Hill Guest House is a charming B&B with warm and friendly hosts. Our room and bathroom were both very clean, and the stay was straightforward and comfortable, making it a great choice for a quick overnight visit. 😞 - There wasn’t really anything I disliked, as the stay was in line with the B&B style and everything was simple and basic. If I had one suggestion, it would be to update the TV to a smart TV for easier streaming.

Loved my stay here and would recommend it to anyone 😀 - Gorgeous little room and a great bed. Slept very well. Appreciated the in-house bar, which is rare in a B&B. Service and breakfast was great and the owners are delightful, lovely people that really care for their guests

Superb stay with wonderful hosts! 😀 - Dani and Cameron were exceptional hosts! Such generous, kind and helpful people. They went above and beyond to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible. The breakfasts were delicious, the hot tub was brilliant, the room very comfortable and the hot room to dry our very soggy hiking clothes was an absolute bonus. Parking was easy, and the location was brilliant. All of the recommendations for local restaurants and things to do were also top notch. Can’t recommend highly enough! 😞 - Nothing!

Dani & Cameron are perfect hosts. Friendly and it's visible that they are doing it with all the passion.It's a perfect and nice place for one night stay but also for the longer period as it's a great starting point into the all interesting places around.When we will arrive to the Scotland again, we know that we will make a reservation again here.

nous recommandons à 1000% 😀 - tout était prêt, très bonne organisation pour notre arrivée. La gentillesse et la serviabilité extrême de nos hôtes. Le petit déjeuner excellent, très propre, on se sent très vite à l’aise. 😞 - seul bémol la largeur du lit , 130 cm pour 2 un peu juste quand on a pas l’habitude.

Prima plek, heerlijke hottub, alleen in ons geval een wat kleine kamer 😀 - De hottub was lekker om na een lange wandeldag een in te zitten. Ook een mooie tuin en goed ontbijt en zeer vriendelijke hosts 😞 - De kamer en badkamer was aan de kleine kant. Zeker met twee grotere koffers.

We knew we were going to love Distant Hills the moment Dani gave us a friendly wave as she arrived to pick us up at Gairlochy after the first stage of our walk along the Great Glen Way from Fort William. Everything about staying here was five star; the rooms and how they were kitted out, the communal areas, the well stocked 'honesty bar', the tasty fresh breakfast and not forgetting the hot tub . But what made it so very special was the friendly and personal welcome from Dani and Cameron and the sense that nothing was too much trouble. The Great Glen Way is done but we're working on finding another reason to come and stay!

Distant Hills was wonderful! Dani and Cam were so kind and helpful during our stay. We arrived soaking wet after a day of hiking and they were so gracious and helpful it turned our day around! The facilities are so nice, the breakfast was delicious, and it’s an easy walk to restaurants in Spean Bridge. Recommend to anyone staying in the area, you will love it!

Friendly hosts, great breakfasts, really lovely place in a good location. 😀 - Gluten free pancakes were fantastic and having access to a very welcoming lounge was a great way to finish the day! Dani and Cam were very helpful too. e.g. advising guests to book ahead for evening meals as it gets booked up in this small village. Very good website. 😞 - I should have spotted that different bed sizes were available, but the standard double was very comfortable.

Das Distant Hills Guest House ist ein super schönes B&B Haus. Die Gastgeber Dani und Cameron sind sehr nett und helfen mit Rat und Tat. Es wird ein großer Teil ihres Hauses den Gästen zur Verfügung gestellt, nicht nur die Zimmer, sondern es gibt ein Wohnzimmer mit Bar, einen schönen Garten mit Whirlpool. Wir waren schon das zweite Mal da und planen nächstes Jahr noch mal hinzufahren.

We had the most incredible experience at Distant Hills Guest House, thanks to the amazing hospitality of Dani and Cam. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so welcome; genuinely warm, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they do.The guest house is spotless, beautifully decorated, and surrounded by stunning scenery. Stayed here after first leg of GGW. What a lovely place. Unfortunately I was unable to experience the breakfast but was assured by my wife that it was amazing. The lift back to Gairlochy and the packed lunch were much appreciated. Would definitely revisit

Dani and Cameron are kind and attentive hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them.The room we had was spotlessly clean with a view of the garden and had everything you could wish for (including two Tunnocks tea cakes which were much appreciated after our long drive).The bed was big and comfortable and the bed linen was of a high quality - we both slept like logs.The B&B is in a great location - it is in a spot which is very quiet and tucked away but also close enough to the main road between Fort William and Inverness to be very convenient for day trips.There is a lovely garden which is for guests to enjoy and we sat out there for an hour in the morning after breakfast and soaked up some sunshine before heading off for a hike.Breakfast was delicious. Cameron is a great cook and Dani a wonderfully attentive host (she is always there if you need something but it does not feel as though she is watching over you - a very difficult skill to master). The food was very fresh and the ingredients were very high quality with plenty of choices on the menu.We did not want to leave after our two nights and we have already decided to return to Distant Hills as soon as we can!Thank you again Dani and Cameron for a wonderful stay.Philip and Kate x

Like a 5 star hotel - but with the personal touch! We knew we were going to love Distant Hills the moment Dani gave us a friendly wave as she arrived to pick us up at Gairlochy after the first stage of our walk along the Great Glen Way from Fort William. Everything about staying here was five star; the rooms and how they were kitted out, the communal areas, the well stocked 'honesty bar', the tasty fresh breakfast and not forgetting the hot tub . But what made it so very special was the friendly and personal welcome from Dani and Cameron and the sense that nothing was too much trouble. The Great Glen Way is done but we're working on finding another reason to come and stay!

I stayed here for two nights. It was perfect. A great location with easy access to all the places I needed to visit. The area is stunningly beautiful. The room was comfortable and spotless. The breakfast was amazing. The hosts are so friendly and spent time with each guest over breakfast. Could not wish for better.

Me and my wife have stayed at the Distant Hills Guesthouse three times now and we cannot rate the experience highly enough. Dani and Cameron are simply the nicest, most professional and helpful couple you could ever hope to meet, and they make you want to revisit time and time again. Spean Bridge is wonderfully placed and there are a lot of things to do nearby. We will definitely revisit the Distant Hills Guesthouse in the future and are already looking forward to seeing Dani and Cameron again. Distant Hills Guest House : We stayed here on 1 June whilst walking the Great Glen Way. Our hosts Danni and Cam were fantastic and helpful from arrival. Nothing seemed too much to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Room was very comfortable with all amenities you needed. Breakfast was provided with a fantastic choice to pick through and cooked to perfection. Our hosts provided a shuttle back to the starting point of the walk for the second day which was a great help. Our luggage was transferred between stays by a different company it is a big thank you to Danni and Cam for finding my walking pole and attaching to our luggage so it arrived for the next legThank you David

Uns erwartete ein wunderschönes Haus mit sehr gepflegtem Grundstück und ausreichend Parkplätzen. Die Zimmer sind sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und auch der Gastraum lädt zum verweilen ein. Das Internet war richtig gut (das war auf unserer Reise nicht immer so). Die Gastgeber sind total herzlich und haben uns ein traumhaftes Frühstück serviert. Wir haben uns dort sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt und werden mit Sicherheit auf einer weiteren Reise durch Schottland wieder dort übernachten.

Guest house fabuleuse 😀 - L'établissement est situé à l'écart de la route principale donc au calme. La chambre est très bien équipée. Un jacuzzi en extérieur est disponible. Les hôtes sont exceptionnels, nous avons apprécié leurs chaleureux accueils. Tout est fait pour bien se sentir. Le petit déjeuner est fait maison avec des produits frais du jour.

Tolles Guesthouse mit super netten Gastgebern 😀 - Uns erwartete ein wunderschönes Haus, mit großem Parkplatz und sehr gepflegtem Garten. Unser Zimmer war sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Hier stimmte einfach alles: bequeme Betten und eine Dusche mit ordentlich wumms. Hier ist alles mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Auch der Gemeinschaftsraum ist sehr gemütlich und lädt zum verweilen ein. Super Internet, was auf unserer Reise bisher nicht selbstverständlich war. Das Frühstück wurde morgens frisch nach den jeweiligen Wünschen zubereitet. Wir wurden dort sehr herzlich aufgenommen und würden jederzeit dort wieder übernachten.

Fantastic stay. Dani and Cam are the most welcoming, friendly and knowledgable hosts ever. This B&B is a little gem. From the beginning to the end of our three night stay our hosts could not have been more hospitable. Their knowledge of the surrounding area is very valuable and they are happy to share this. The hot tub is a fantastic treat at the end of a long day of walking. The honesty bar was brilliant. Ben Nevis trekking is really close and also if you want to explore Glencoe are it's about 45 min driving and Dani will suggest you the best walks there! Breakfast was also really good and room not very big but clean 😞 - nothing!

Tout est finement pensé dans la chambre et la maison pour se dire que nous sommes comme à la maison. Received a very warm welcome from the off, very modern and clean with beautiful garden and views.The room was perfect, extremely well furnished and well thought out (little details that other hotels dont think about). An excellent stay. A true gem and located close to the places we plan to visit. Stean Bridge has much to see and the electric bikes were fantastic. Dani and Cam are the finest of hosts. Great vibe, great setting, wonderful breakfast. Can’t say enough good things.

Very welcoming, great location, it's like being at home in someone elses home. The rooms are not the biggest but well presented with en suite. I was staying with Dani and Cameron for one of their walking holidays. Altogether, there were 10 of us taking part. You could not wish for a better prepared itinerary with a knowledgeable guide. I enjoyed it all so much. The food was amazing, with great breakfasts, packed lunches, afternoon cake and coffee, and the evening meal. I will be going back.😘

Amazing! This wonderful and serene place to lay our heads was just what we needed after a long day of hiking. We were welcomed and shown around with understanding after our long, wet day. An offer to use the hot tub was made, an honor bar for the guests is available. What makes this place however are the wonderful hosts. A hidden gem in the Highlands. 😀 - Everything was perfect. A hidden gem in the Highlands of Scotland. We were quite lucky since they had a cancellation so we had the honor the stay a night at this lovely place. The host and hostess are super kind, very thoughtful and very helpful. They have a great home with a lounge area where you can kick back and take a rest (with a drink if you prefer one). The rooms are cozy and well kept. The beds are clean and firm. Very nice to sleep on. And the WiFi works perfect. 😞 - Nothing really.

It was such a delight staying at Distant Hills- Dani and Cameron are lovely, thoughtful hosts, and you can tell they really put thought into it very detail of their B&B to make it the perfect stopover for hikers. The drying room and hot tub were both godsends and the honesty bar was amply stocked with local products. Will highly recommend any day and will definitely be back!

Very hospitable hosts, but unfortunately the room didn't meet our expectations 😀 - The hosts were very welcoming and did their best to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast was nice and sufficient, but when we compare with the other places we stayed during our 2 weeks tour of Scotland, we had better breakfasts that offered more fruit, included home made jams & granola and always also included salmon. 😞 - The room was very small, certainly compared to all the other places we stayed during our 2 weeks tour of Scotland. This room was overpriced, since all other locations we stayed at during our tour in popular places, had much larger rooms & beds and included nice authentic scottish decorations for less money.

During our walk from Fort William to Inverness (The Great Glen Way) this was our second overnight stop. And what a place! Dani welcomed us very warmly and made us feel at home immediately. The B&B is well maintained, beautiful, comfortable and even has a garden with a hot tub. The delicious breakfast was a perfect start of the day. They also made us a packed lunch (photo). Dani and Cameron to the rescue!! We'd booked to stay at the nearby Spean Bridge Hotel but arrived to find it had closed with no warning! One quick phone call found Dani and Cameron had (luckily for us!) had a cancellation and they were able to rescue our trip. Honestly, the absolute best outcome, what a find! Easily the nicest B&B we've ever stayed at from the get go they were friendly, welcoming and understanding. The honesty bar was a very welcome touch and the breakfast was a winner! Everywhere was spotless, the beds were super comfy and the views! 1000% recommend to anyone passing through. (And if that's not enough to convince you, they're Four in a Bed winners too!) The ‘Distant’ Hills Are Alive,, if space available! After walking 10 rainy miles from Fort William to Spean Bridge along the Caledonian Canal, we phoned our B&B hostess Dani, who happily picked us up in her Jeep to bridge the final 5 mile stretch. We loved her friendly vibe immediately. We arrived at (almost surprisingly) the best B&B of our trip, Distant Hills Guest House. Honestly, the best B&B experience I have ever experienced. Should you ever be looking for excellent and somewhat rural accommodation outside of Fort Williams, please consider checking out the guest house of Dani and Cameron! From the friendly, organized, artful and welcoming space, to their “honor bar” in the sitting room, we found the common spaces as detailed and mindful as our bedrooms. Lovely recommendations for dinner, a 15 minute walk into Spean Bridge was excellent. The hike to nearby Commando Memorial was scenic and quite evocative!

We had the pleasure of staying at Distant Hills Guest House after the first leg of our Great Glen Way trek. Our experience with Dani and Cameron started with them providing pickup service for 9 very wet hikers at Gairlochy. It may have taken 3 trips but Dani had as all in the warmth of Distant Hills GH in record time! From the outside covered drying clothes lines to the hot tub (oh yeah!) to the honesty bar and comfy living area space, Dani and Cameron have left no stone unturned in provding the ultimate guest experience. This is a very welcoming place where one feels instantly at home and the rooms were impeccable with super comfy beds. Everyone's breakfast choices were divine (I can personally recommend the pancakes!) and Cameron transported us back to Gairlochy in the morning well rested, well fed and ready to resume Day 2 of the GGW. And finally...of all the places we stayed during our two weeks in Scotland, Distant Hills GH was only one of two B&Bs that provided hair conditioner! Well done you two.

Dani and Cam offer spotless rooms and baths in a cozy guesthouse ideally situated in Spean Bridge, Scotland. The hosts go the extra mile addressing guests' inquiries and wishes. Their hospitality sets this guest house apart from the rest.There's a very cozy sitting room with views to the back garden. It has an honesty bar well stocked with Whiskies, Gins, Wines and locally sources Craft Beer, brewed right across the street.After a long day's hike, the garden spa tub for guests was a true delight. And the fresh from the kitchen morning breakfast was delicious and prepared us for the next leg of our Great Glen Way hike to Invergarry.

Exceptional 😀 - Cannot fault Dani and Cameron one bit. Absolutely everything was spot on. Clean, tidy, cosy, exceptional service and the warmest of welcomes. They even let us check in 15 mins early. Breakfast was exceptional and we made the best use of the amazing hot tub! Surrounding area fantastic, a great hub point for Western Scotland. Great beer and whisky selection in the mini bar with very reasonable prices. Will definitely be telling friends and family about this place and cannot wait to stay again. Halte tijdens onze GGW wandeling.Op onze eerste wandeldag maakte we de fout om stuk tussen de einde wandeldag en b&b te wandelen (7km extra) ipv uitbater ons op te laten pikken. Dit maakte dat we zeer vermoeid aankwamen bij de b&b. Dit werd meteen goedgemaakt door de aangename ontvangst, mooie locatie en jacuzi (waar we van genoten hebben).Zeer mooie propere kamer, geweldig ontbijt en lunchpakket.De uitbater was zo vriendelijk om ons per auto tot aan startpunt van de wandeling te brengen.

Wonderful 😀 - Lovely hot tub, although the sides were a bit scummy but it was late in the evening by the time we used it. Beautiful garden. Comfy beds. Immaculately clean. Accommodating hosts with our late arrival and early departure 😞 - The windows overlooking the hot tub could do with some privacy screening or at least net curtains, as a couple were undressing in front of the window which was clearly visible by those of us in the garden.

Wow - Lived up to our high expectations We saw Distant Hills win Four in a bed in 2022 and decided that one day we would visit. Our stay certainly lived up to our high expectations. Dani and Cameron are wonderful hosts, our room was spotless and comfortable, breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and the guest lounge, honesty bar and hot tub in the beautiful garden are fab to come back to after a days sight seeing/walking. Dani has lots of advice and tips on places to visit in the beautiful area which was appreciated and helped us make the most of our time in the area. Dani and Cameron do it right. They have such a great system to welcome you on your first day, and make sure that if there's anything you need all you have to do is ask. They are very attentive and friendly. The fact that they have return business speaks volumes to the type of service they provide. The honesty bar, living room area, and the backyard just scream "welcome home". I can't think of anything they can improve on. Well done you two, it was a pleasure to finally meet you after months of planning our trip. We WILL be back someday.

Distant Hills is a fabulous Guesthouse, the rooms are spotless clean and comfortable, the vast lounge is very cosy and has a bar with a wide selection of wines, whisky, gin, soft drinks (with honesty box). The lovely well kept garden is equipped with a hot tub. The breakfast is first class, Dani and Cameron have thought of every details and are exceptional hosts, very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this lovely guesthouse.

Cameron and Dani are perfect, very friendly, and welcoming hosts who make you feel at home immediately. Warm hospitality and excellent local knowledge We’d heard so many good things about Distant Hills… and they did not disappoint! Superb local knowledge, warm hospitality (the fluffiest pancakes) and excellent facilities like the honesty bar and hot tub. It has an excellent location to explore so many walks and the Aurora topped off a really special stay. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

5+ star B&B with very welcoming hosts Had a fantastically comfortable and very friendly one-night stay whilst passing through on the Great Glen Way. I had a spotlessly clean room which, whilst it was small, mattered little as there was a vast lounge available for guests use (indeed I spent a lovely hour chatting with a fellow guest late into the evening). And the lounge includes a well-stocked bar (with honesty box). Breakfast was good with a satisfying cooked breakfast to set you on your way. And for a small nominal fee, they supplied a good pack lunch too. Spean Bridge is located some 5km from the Great Glen Way, there is nowhere to stay at Gairlochy (the natural breakpoint when walking this trail). So the owners offer a pickup and drop-off service if you're feet can't make it! And on top of that, they also have a hot tub available for guests - if a days walk has exhausted them! The only (small) point of note is that this is located a 10-minute walk from the centre of Spean Bridge so eating out does require a bit more walking. Overall, though this is 5-star guest house / b&b accommodation and a credit to the owners - well done!

My wife and I again had the pleasure of staying at Distant Hills Guest House, Spean Bridge. The welcome from Cameron and Dani was genuine and warm; they have a remarkable ability to make the visitor feel totally at home and at ease. The room was very comfortable, well appointed and scrupulously clean giving us excellent sleeping accommodation for our stay. The Guest House provides a secluded, well stocked garden to sit in and enjoy a drink from the honestly bar located in the comfortable guest’s lounge. Weather permitting, there is a hot tub available in the extensive garden for guests to use. The breakfast was served in a most inviting dining room, was delicious and personally served at individual tables; a welcome change from dining “en famille” as seems to be the preferred method in some establishments. We have no hesitation in recommending Distant Hills Guest House as a most excellent establishment for Bed and Breakfast within a readily accessible, Central Highland location and we look forward to returning in 2025.

Dani & Cameron have created a special spot in Spean Bridge. My wife and I have traveled extensively and prefer to stay in B&B when / where possible. It is a talent balancing efficiency with friendship, but Dani & Cam manage this superbly well and gave me a wonderful experience. Nothing was too much trouble. I was on a walking holiday which was tailored to fit both the weather and our (lack of) ability). The stay was wonderful (lots of lovely personal touches), with a comfortable room, great breakfasts and lovely company. The only problem is telling everyone how good it all is (they deserve more than 5 stars), as there might not be space for me next time.

Need to come back with the family. My friends will soon enough start booking their stay. 😀 - Dani and Cam essentially run the best B&B I’ve ever been to. You can’t even call it that: Distant Hills is where I want to work when I retire. A true home away from home and I was only there for fourteen hours. Wonderful house great food delightful stories to share. 😞 - If I could have stayed a week perhaps?

My happiness place FOREVER!This review has been in the making for over three years and it started with me finding this gem! In the middle of a world gone pandemic while wishing for a place that looked quiet and peaceful… I found it! I found a website with a photo of someone overlooking the most beautiful scenery and said “I want to go THERE”!My husband and I ventured across the pond in October of 2022 to find this quaint bed and breakfast nestled in a small town called Speanbridge. Immediately we were greeted by our hosts, Dani and Cameron MacKinnon. They are so welcoming and caring that you feel like family immediately! We had booked a hard walk and to be honest..the “walking” was not so easy for us flat-country folks. But out in the elements, everybody worked together to help each other. The experience we had and friendship bonds we made are a testament to those 8 other hikers, our fabulous hosts and one damn fine guide named Dave LaMond! Back at the BnB it was always warm and cozy with a delicious home backed snack waiting post-hike to refuel. A little down time, then off to a superb dinner, coordinated all in advance, at a local eatery. Hot tub, fresh linens and even a nip from the honor bar if you wish. All amenities top notch!We were so changed by that whole experience AND with those beautiful people, that we re-booked… but not just us…9 out of 10 of the group was back again, in fall of 2023!I could write a book - in fact this is the fifth time I’ve written and re-written this. So, if you’ve read previous reviews - go back and read the excerpt from Dave Hanson. Dave was our ‘traveling author’ of sorts and told our first story in glorious detail!I cannot imagine what my life would be like without having met my new ‘Sister’ Dani and Cameron, Kevin and Ann, Tim and Karen, Belinda and Adam, Maureen, Dave H and again our most-awesome guide, Dave LaMond.If you want a life-changing experience with world-class service but want it to feel like home away from home… then you are there.. at Distant Hills ♥️♥️♥️

Julie and I only had the pleasure of spending one night at the Hills but first impressions are the best. The room was great, bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot, then the breakfast was amazing great job hope to return soonFrank Alizio

Un séjour incroyable chez Dani et Cameron ! Dani est aux petits soins pour nous accueillir, la chambre était très confortable et le petit déjeuner délicieux. Nous avons pu profiter du jacuzzi et du bar en dégustant une bière locale. Une première nuit en Ecosse réussie !

Happy Holiday at Distant Hills Had a great four night stay at Distant Hills. Dani and Cameron were superb hosts - welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Distant Hills is spotlessly clean, our room was really comfortable and there is a good selection for breakfast. The B&B is in an excellent location, we did lots of walking and visited local attractions such as Glenfinnan. We would definitely recommend and would stay again. Thank you Dani and Cam!

Fantastiskt på alla vis! 😀 - Bra incheckning utan personal på plats. Fantastiskt trivsam inredning, mycket trevligt med bar tillgänglig och man kunde förse sej själv och betala i efterhand, på morgonen efter. Ger gästerna förtroende - kändes mycket bra! Rummet var fräscht, trädgården utanför var också jättefin. Personalen (ägarna) var mycket trevliga, kallade oss vid förnamn. Man SÅG verkligen gästerna! Vi kände oss mycket välkomna! 😞 - -

Exceptional 😀 - Distant Hills Guest House is a beautiful home in a great location. Dani and her husband were very nice and helpful and we truly felt at home. The bedroom was nice and comfortable and the breakfast (home made) was delicious !

We had such a nice encounter with Dani and Cameron, they are the highlight of the place ! The house is beautiful, quiet, in a nice garden, on a quiet street and in the wonderful Scottish Highlands. The breakfast was rich and delicious. We very much recommand the place.

We had the pleasure to stay with Dani & Cameron in May this year. Of all holidays and stays we have done traveling in the last years, Distant Hills was the most memorable experience. Dani & Cameron made us feel like staying over at good friends, just that their breakfast was three times as good! Thank you very very much for the lovely chats, good advice for walking, the amazing places you recommended to us within the vicinity and your attentiveness to ensure our well-being whenever we were around. You made our stay - and beyond - our trip truly special. All the best from the alps and see you again!

Dani and Cameron were excellent hosts. They provided so much great information on what to do in the area, along with maps. Also provided places to go for dinner so we could make reservations in advance. The room is very comfortable and we had a living room to hang out in and chat with the other guests. Both breakfasts were amazing and we couldn’t have asked for anything better to get us out the door. Thank you and we will definitely come back if we get to this beautiful area again.

Awesome place to stay in the Fort William/Spean Bridge area 😀 - The owners, Dani and Cameron were so kind and welcoming and full of great information of things to do in their area and restaurants to go to. Appreciated the heads up regarding reserving restaurants in advance for dinner.  The breakfasts  were superb, one morning was the pancakes with berries, and the next morning was a Scottish breakfast. Nice to have a living room to relax in in the evening and meet and chat with the other guests. We loved our time there, and would definitely return. 

Stunning place to stay Can't recommend this place highly enough. Really cool, modern style and the hosts Dani and Cameron could not be more helpful and friendly! I even got a lift in the morning to the start of my hike. The breakfast and packed lunch was amazing. Definitely worth checking out, 5 stars from me

Charming B&B run by a lovely couple who cater for your every need. The location is excellent for walkers with plenty of restaurant options locally and great for those who don't want to be in busy Fort Williams but still have access to the same vast range of mountain walks. Rooms are well equipped with en-suite and there is a lounge with an honesty bar/TV etc. Packed lunches can be provided and breakfast is of a good quality. Everywhere is clean and modern and there is a hot tub outside. Dani and Cam are very hospitable and have great knowledge of the area.

Totally wonderful. Dani & Cameron make you feel extremely welcome & very comfortable. Absolutely excellent from start to finish - lovely room, very relaxing. Choice of breakfast, cooked & served to perfection. Great view over a lovely garden & trickling stream. Hot tub & use of lovely lounge with local beer, gin & other drinks should you wish. Dani & Cameron exude a positive & welcoming vibe that really makes your stay a lovely experience. Great venue to explore locally - Ben Nevis, commando memorial, amazing walking, distillery. We even saw the northern lights!
